PSG faces Liverpool: Alexander Isak included in Champions League quarterfinal roster

Alexander Isak has been included in the Liverpool roster for Wednesday’s Champions League quarterfinal against Paris Saint-Germain following a 15-week absence.
The 26-year-old has struggled to live up to the expectations and his hefty £125 million ($166m) transfer fee since his contentious deadline-day move from Newcastle.
Isak has only made 16 appearances for Liverpool as he has had to regain his fitness and manage some minor injuries before facing a significant setback in December.
The Sweden international sustained an injury during a tackle by Micky van de Ven while scoring the first goal in a 2-1 victory over Tottenham, which resulted in surgery for an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture.
His absence has been notably impactful, and his inclusion in the 21-man squad for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg at PSG could provide a significant advantage for Arne Slot’s struggling team.
There is increasing pressure on the Dutch manager and his squad after disappointing recent performances were exacerbated by Saturday’s heavy 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Isak returned to team training last Thursday and practiced with his teammates on Tuesday morning before traveling to France.
