Pep Guardiola: Erling Haaland of Man City reports improvement; set for fitness evaluation

Pep Guardiola has indicated that Erling Haaland “feels much better” following his absence in the victory against Leeds United due to an injury and may be available for the match against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
Guardiola plans to make a determination regarding Haaland’s fitness after Tuesday’s training session.
The Norwegian forward was not included in the squad for the 1-0 victory at Elland Road on Saturday due to an ankle issue.
“He feels much better,” Guardiola stated when inquired about Haaland’s condition.
“We did not train yesterday, and now we are training. We will make a decision today [Tuesday].”
Nico O’Reilly is also a concern due to injury after he had to leave the match against Leeds, and City will postpone a decision on whether the 20-year-old can participate against Forest.
“The same; we will decide after training,” Guardiola remarked.
City will begin their match against Forest on Wednesday trailing Arsenal by five points, with Arsenal facing Brighton at the Amex Stadium concurrently.

“As we approach the final 10 games of the season, every point becomes crucial,” Guardiola noted.
“We have six matches this month, two in the Premier League before the international break, and it is very important.
“We are five points behind Arsenal, so we cannot afford to drop points.”
