Neymar plans to fulfill his contract with Santos despite interest from MLS.

Earlier this month, sources informed ESPN that FC Cincinnati was considering options to bring the Brazilian player to the United States this summer and had even reached out to Neymar’s representatives to assess his interest.

Neymar, whose agreement with his childhood club Santos concludes at the end of this year, responded to those reports, stating: “I honestly don’t know [about the possibility of leaving in the next transfer window].

“I have a contract with Santos until the end of the year and I intend to see it through.”

A knee injury has restricted Neymar, 34, to only eight appearances in 2026. He has recorded four goals and three assists for Santos.

Upon returning from injury, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward found the net in his team’s disappointing 1-1 home draw against Deportivo Recoleta on Tuesday.

Following the match, he had an altercation with a fan as Santos exited the field to a chorus of boos.

Neymar later posted on Instagram: “To lose, draw or win is part of football! We are going to continue working to improve…It’s the only thing we can do.”
