Moreira shines as Milan dominate Inter in Derby della Madonnina
Diego Moreira acknowledged that this represented his finest display for Milan ‘for now’ following his contribution of one goal and two assists, while Christian Pulisic quipped about his remarkable record against Inter.
The Rossoneri controlled the Derby della Madonnina, establishing a 2-0 advantage within the opening 10 minutes through a header from Pulisic and a strike by Adrien Rabiot, both set up by Diego Moreira.
The Belgium international confirmed his Man of the Match award by finding the net with a sharply curving free kick in the 3-1 win.

“I am very happy, with my teammates we did a great job, we fought to earn the three points,” Moreira told Sky Sport Italia.
“We have to stay focused game by game, it’s still early in the season, we need to take it step by step. For now, it is my best game in the Milan shirt. For now.”

Kaka attended the match and was inducted into the Milan Hall of Fame prior to kick-off, appearing visibly emotional as he acknowledged the supporters.
How did Moreira feel scoring in the derby with Kaka watching, wearing the same 22 jersey that the Brazilian had here?
“Thank you for coming and giving me your shirt, I am very happy!”

This marked the first Derby della Madonnina for Diego Moreira, but Pulisic is now a seasoned participant in this fixture and opened the scoring within four minutes.
“We started very strong with intensity, physicality, scored two goals and then the third before half-time. This victory is very important for us,” Pulisic told Sky Sport Italia.
The American has scored in four editions of the derby and Milan won all of them, so is he their lucky charm?
“I want to continue scoring goals in the derby, so that way we’ll win! These are three very important points, but we’ve got to find this consistency to play like this all the time. In the big games, it’s not a surprise that we do well.”
