Manchester United will not lower the asking price for Barcelona to keep Marcus Rashford, according to sources.

Manchester United does not intend to renegotiate the conditions of Marcus Rashford’s possible permanent transfer to Barcelona, sources have informed ESPN, and anticipate that the Spanish club will pay the fee established during the summer if they wish to retain the England forward.
Rashford moved to Barça on an initial loan for the season last summer.
According to the terms of the arrangement, the LaLiga club has the option to finalize the transfer for a pre-determined fee — estimated to be between €30 million and €35 million ($35-40 million) — at the conclusion of the season.
There have been indications that Barça might seek to reopen discussions with United in hopes of negotiating a reduced fee.
However, sources have indicated to ESPN that United is not inclined to do so and expects to receive the full amount if Rashford remains in Spain past the summer.
Rashford, as per sources, wishes to continue at Barça.
The 28-year-old was sidelined at Old Trafford under former manager Ruben Amorim and subsequently joined Aston Villa on loan in January 2025 before moving to Barça six months later.
Sources have informed ESPN that United’s position on Rashford remains unchanged despite Amorim’s exit and the appointment of Michael Carrick as head coach.

Rashford experienced his most successful season with United during the 2019-20 campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had Carrick as part of his coaching staff at that time.
Nonetheless, sources have conveyed to ESPN that Carrick has contemplated the idea of bringing Rashford back and has not communicated to club executives any desire to investigate the possibility of a return at the season’s end.
Rashford has made a notable impact at Barça, netting 10 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
He is contracted with United until 2028 after signing a long-term extension in 2023.
