Manchester City anticipates the conclusion of Bernardo Silva’s tenure.

Manchester City assistant Pep Lijnders has strongly suggested that Bernardo Silva is likely to depart the club at the conclusion of the season by stating, “every good story comes to an end.”
Silva’s contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire in June.
The experienced Portugal international has consistently remarked, “I know what I’m going to do” when questioned about his future, yet he has not officially disclosed his intentions.
However, Lijnders seemed to affirm Silva’s departure this summer when he assumed Pep Guardiola’s postmatch media responsibilities following City’s 4-0 victory over Liverpool on Saturday.
“Every good story comes to an end,” Lijnders stated. “I hope he enjoys the remaining monthsβthere are only six weeks leftβand has a fitting farewell. He deserves all that recognition as well.”
Silva, 31, has been associated with potential transfers to Saudi Arabia, Barcelona, and his childhood club Benfica.
City have also been connected with midfielders in anticipation of the summer transfer window, including Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali, but Lijnders emphasizes that it will be nearly impossible to find a replacement for Silva.
“You never replace a player with someone of the same kind because they simply do not exist,” he remarked. “Bernardo Silva is one of a kind. The manner in which he controls matches, the way he moves, the way he receives the ball, the way he leads, and the way he identifies solutionsβthese attributes are unparalleled.”
“You do not look for a direct substitute for a specific type of player. Instead, you seek what is necessary to develop with the team and someone who can integrate into the starting XI.”
“And then you hope that, through our academy and the young players we have already acquired, they can also progress into those midfield roles.”
City’s victory on Saturday advanced them to the semifinals of the FA Cup, having already secured the Carabao Cup earlier this season.
