Man United worried about Patrick Dorgu's injury-related absence - sources 1

Manchester United is concerned that Patrick Dorgu may be sidelined for several weeks due to the injury he incurred during the victory over Arsenal on Sunday, sources informed ESPN.

The Danish international, who netted an impressive goal in the 3-2 triumph at the Emirates, had to leave the field nine minutes before the final whistle.

Caretaker manager Michael Carrick expressed hope that the issue was merely cramp.

However, Dorgu was unable to participate in post-match media obligations following the match as he was receiving treatment.

Further evaluations conducted on Monday indicated that the injury might be more serious than initially anticipated, and the 21-year-old could face an extended absence.

Sources have indicated to ESPN that United currently lacks a definitive timeline for Dorgu’s return, pending additional tests on Tuesday.

A lengthy absence would be a setback for Carrick, who has witnessed Dorgu score in both matches he has managed—first in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City and then against Arsenal.

United’s next match is against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.

They also have upcoming fixtures against Tottenham, West Ham, and Everton before the conclusion of February.

Man United supporter group plan protest

In the meantime, the supporter group The 1958 has announced their intention to proceed with their planned protest ahead of the match against Fulham.

The demonstration will target the majority owners, the Glazer family, as well as minority stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

“Recent results are attributed to Michael Carrick and the players, and they have occurred despite our ineffective ownership, not because of it,” stated a spokesperson for The 1958.

“This club continues to stumble from one disaster to another. Fans should not be misled by two positive results. We have experienced this too many times before. Our protest has never centered on on-field performances. Not now, and not at any point in the last 21 years.

“We are evaluating a dysfunctional ownership model that has consistently failed Manchester United.”
