Luis Díaz: I made the ‘correct decision’ moving from Liverpool to Bayern Munich

Luis Díaz stated that he believes he made the correct choice in transferring to Bayern Munich from Liverpool last summer.
The Colombian attacker has been in remarkable form for the Bundesliga club, netting 23 goals and providing 18 assists in 40 appearances since his arrival at the Allianz Arena in July for a fee of €75 million ($87m).
Díaz, who netted his team’s first goal in Bayern’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal, shared with ESPN: “Choosing to join Bayern was the right decision. I’m very pleased and I enjoy every match.”
“I feel fantastic, I’m in excellent condition, and that means I’m prepared to assist the team.”
Díaz, who is anticipated to start for Colombia in this summer’s World Cup, mentioned that Bayern’s successful season is attributed to strong team chemistry.
“We have a clear strategy, we’re a tightly bonded group, and that is evident on the field,” Díaz remarked.
Bayern holds a nine-point lead over Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga with six matches left to play.
They are also competing in the German Cup and will face Bayer Leverkusen in the semifinal on April 22.
Prior to that, Bayern has an exciting matchup against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Díaz expressed that his team should have a larger advantage heading into next week’s second leg.
Bayern registered nine shots on target at the Bernabéu and adhered to their tactical approach.

“We had already analyzed Real Madrid, and the play [leading to the opening goal] unfolded exactly as we had envisioned,” Díaz explained. “We felt increasingly at ease as the match went on, regained possession more frequently, and managed the game more effectively. That’s our preferred style of play.
“We’re very satisfied, but there’s a slight sense of disappointment that we could have added one or two more goals. We delivered an excellent performance against a very challenging opponent.”
