Kieran Trippier announces his departure from Newcastle this summer as his contract concludes.

Kieran Trippier acknowledges that departing Newcastle this summer will be “emotional” as his contract comes to an end.
The 35-year-old defender has made more than 150 appearances for the Magpies, netting four goals during his four-and-a-half-year tenure at St James’ Park.
He has been instrumental under Eddie Howe, contributing to the club’s first major trophy in 70 years by winning the Carabao Cup last season and aiding their qualification for the Champions League on two occasions in the past three years.
In an interview on Newcastle’s website, Trippier stated: “The time has come to leave this incredible club after four and a half years. This is where I have felt most at home. It’s emotional, and I will truly miss it.
“I want to express my immense gratitude to the supporters for their backing through both the highs and lows. You have consistently supported me and stood by me.
“To my teammates, it will be emotional. It has been a remarkable journey with all of you. I will miss you all, but winning a trophy with you was truly special – the highlight of my career.
“And to the manager, Eddie Howe, all the coaching staff, and the team behind the scenes, a huge thank you.”

The former Burnley and Tottenham right-back, who transferred to Newcastle from Atletico Madrid in January 2022, has earned 54 senior caps for England.
Howe remarked: “Kieran has been outstanding for us both on and off the pitch. From the moment he arrived, he has helped elevate standards that have altered the club’s direction.
“His leadership qualities have been crucial. In challenging times, his experience has provided calmness, and his determination and desire to win have motivated the players to continue striving for success.
“While we will soon be bidding farewell to Kieran, we are also aware that there is much still to achieve this season, and I know a player of Kieran’s character will be giving his all to conclude his time here on a positive note.”
