According to a report released by Sportico on Tuesday, five clubs in MLS have now surpassed a valuation of $1 billion, with Inter Miami at the forefront for the first time at $1.45 billion.

Having secured its inaugural MLS Cup title last December, Miami’s valuation has increased by 22%, placing it ahead of LAFC ($1.4 billion), which held the top valuation for the last four years.

Co-owned by David Beckham, Miami’s situation has significantly improved both on and off the pitch since the arrival of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi in 2023.

The top five also includes LA Galaxy ($1.17 billion), Atlanta United ($1.14 billion), and New York City FC ($1.12 billion).

The average valuation of MLS’ 30 clubs now stands at $767 million, reflecting a 6% increase from the previous year and a 39% rise compared to Sportico’s initial valuation of MLS in 2021. The report indicates that the total worth of MLS teams is approximately $23 billion.

Despite this expansion, MLS teams are still striving to reach the high valuations reported for franchises in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.

In the overall rankings across all five leagues, Miami is positioned 116th out of 154 teams. Leading the rankings are the Dallas Cowboys ($12.8 billion), Golden State Warriors ($11.33 billion), and the Los Angeles Rams ($10.43 billion).

MLS is set to commence its 2026 regular season on February 21, with LAFC facing off against Inter Miami.
