Harry Kane is the first English player to reach 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League.

Harry Kane has become the inaugural English player to achieve the milestone of 50 goals in the Champions League, following his two goals in Bayern Munich’s 4-1 victory over Atalanta in the second leg on Wednesday.
The England international converted a penalty in the first half at Allianz Arena and then netted a spectacular second goal after halftime, marking his 50th goal in Europe’s premier competition.
Kane’s impressive performance contributed to Bayern’s comprehensive 10-2 aggregate triumph over Atalanta, bringing his tally to 28 goals in 34 UCL matches since his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to the German club in 2023.
Returning to Bayern’s starting XI for the first time since February 28 due to a calf injury, Kane has now scored in his last four UCL round-of-16 encounters for Bayern, totaling seven goals in those fixtures.
This win allows Vincent Kompany’s team to progress to a quarterfinal clash against Real Madrid, a side Bayern has not defeated in their last nine encounters.
The first leg of the quarterfinal against Madrid is scheduled to take place at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 7.
Another Bayern player had a remarkable evening at the Allianz on Wednesday, as defender Filip Pavic became the youngest player in the club’s history to participate in a Champions League match and the third-youngest in the competition’s overall history when he came off the bench.
At 16 years and 58 days old, Pavic replaced right-back Josip Stanisic in the 72nd minute while Bayern was ahead 4-0.
According to UEFA, Pavic is the first player born in 2010 to appear in a Champions League match and ranks as the third-youngest in the competition’s history.
Arsenal’s Max Dowman was 15 when he debuted against Slavia Prague in November, and Youssoufa Moukoko was 16 years and 18 days old when he came off the bench for Borussia Dortmund against Zenit St. Petersburg in 2020. Pavic’s achievement places him ahead of Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, who now sits fourth on the all-time list.
Bayern’s previous youngest Champions League player was Paul Wanner, who was 16 years and 9 months old during a match against Viktoria Plzen in 2022.
