Harry Kane engaged in ‘detailed discussions’ regarding his future – Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich is engaged in “intensive discussions” with Harry Kane regarding his future, although specific negotiations for a potential new contract have not yet occurred, as stated by the club’s sporting director Max Eberl.
The England captain has netted 24 Bundesliga goals this season, positioning him as the top scorer in the European league.
Kane transferred to Bayern from Tottenham in the summer of 2023 for approximately £100 million ($137m) and is contracted until the summer of 2027.
However, the 32-year-old has been associated with a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia if he decides against extending his tenure with the Bundesliga champions.
While Eberl emphasized that no agreements have been finalized, Bayern maintains ongoing communication with Kane, who has scored 123 goals in 129 matches.
“We are in discussions, but that does not imply that negotiations have commenced. We are in intensive talks with Harry, and the subsequent steps will follow,” Eberl remarked at a press conference prior to Bayern’s DFB Pokal quarter-final against RB Leipzig.
“I cannot comment on the speculations suggesting that someone is preparing a transfer bid for Kane.”
“What I can confirm is that we are in close contact with Harry concerning him and our success.”
Kane converted two penalties in Sunday’s 5-1 victory over Hoffenheim, which positioned Bayern six points ahead of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga.
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany is anticipated to utilize his squad for the cup match on Wednesday night but will not underestimate Leipzig’s challenge.
“They possess wingers and a front three that score frequently and exhibit significant creativity, making them a formidable attacking team,” Kompany stated.
“It is a home match, a must-win situation. We aim to showcase our capabilities.”
“We also have strong wingers and incredibly capable players in the midfield. If we achieve the right balance, it could be a very favorable match for us.”
Bayern dominated Leipzig 6-0 in their initial Bundesliga encounter of the season and secured a 5-1 away victory last month.

Leipzig coach Ole Werner, however, asserts that his team “has nothing to lose” in the single-elimination cup match.
“We must capitalize on the spaces that become available to us, with bravery and confidence. We have players on the field who can challenge Bayern,” he stated at a press conference.
“It will depend on us defending well and aggressively at various levels. We need to operate as a cohesive unit, maintain tight distances, and collaborate defensively. Simultaneously, we want to play our style of football and pose a threat.”
