Fenerbahce clarifies reasons behind the failure of N'Golo Kanté transfer 1

The transfer of N’Golo Kanté from Al Ittihad to Fenerbahce has fallen through, just one day after the closure of the Saudi Arabian transfer window.

Kanté was expected to transition from Al Ittihad to Fenerbahce, with Youssef En-Nesyri of the Turkish club moving in the opposite direction; however, both transfers have not materialized.

Fenerbahce attributed the failure to Al Ittihad in a statement released on Tuesday, following the end of the transfer window for Saudi clubs. The transfer window for Turkish clubs remains open until Friday, February 6.

The club stated: “The transfer dealings involving Al Ittihad Club, N’Golo Kanté, and Youssef En-Nesyri have been carefully overseen by our club in accordance with our plans and with the highest level of diligence in all aspects.

“Throughout this process, which was conducted in line with the requests of our technical staff, agreements were established with the players; the medical examinations for the player intended for transfer were completed, necessary approvals were secured, and our club has met all its obligations promptly and thoroughly. The documentation for the transfer registration was submitted to the system accurately and completely within the designated timeframe.

Gab Marcotti and Julien Laurens discuss the news that Cristiano Ronaldo will miss Al-Nassr’s match against Al-Riyadh.

“However, due to the incorrect entry of the relevant TMS information by the opposing club, the procedures could not be finalized within the transfer registration period, independent of our club. Consequently, an extension was requested, necessary discussions were held with FIFA by our club, and all measures have been taken to resolve the situation. Despite this, the procedures have not been completed by the opposing club without any justification provided to us.

“As a result of these circumstances, regrettably, the aforementioned transfer process could not be finalized.
