Enzo Fernández has expressed regret, but remains unavailable for the match against Man City, according to Chelsea’s Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has stated that Enzo Fernández has expressed regret for his remarks regarding a potential transfer to Real Madrid, but the midfielder will still be absent for Sunday’s match against Manchester City.
Fernández candidly discussed Madrid in an interview with ESPN Argentina, and later during the international break, he mentioned: “I’d like to live in Spain, I really like Madrid.”
Rosenior indicated that Fernández has since apologized, but the club is still imposing a sanction on him. After being previously excluded from the FA Cup quarterfinal against Port Vale, he will not be available for the crucial Premier League match on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
“I’ve had three or four very constructive discussions with Enzo,” Rosenior remarked. “He’s apologized to me, and he’s apologized to the club. We’ll address that after a significant game on Sunday.
“It was an important meeting regarding a serious issue. Throughout this process, I’m not questioning Enzo’s character or who he is as a person. I believe individuals can err. However, one cannot overlook the consequences of a mistake.
“My hope for Enzo is that he can move forward from this and have a remarkable career.
“He will not participate on Sunday. I hope that after this, he will play a vital role. There are several challenges we need to navigate.”
