Manchester United fan Frank Illet has announced that his long hair is “going soon”—more than a year after he vowed not to cut it until his team secured five consecutive victories.

Illet, who is recognized on social media as “theunitedstrand,” initiated this challenge in October 2024, during Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford.

Following United’s 2-0 victory against Tottenham on Saturday, which marked their fourth consecutive win, Illet is now at the final stage: if United triumph over West Ham United on Tuesday, he will have his voluminous hairstyle trimmed.

“Carrick is at the wheel! This hair is going soon, West Ham next, four out of five done, this is the first time it’s been four in a row since I started the challenge. This time, it’s happening,” Illet stated on Instagram.

“Thank you so much to Carrick, thank you, thank you, thank you,” he continued.

His challenge has gained significant attention, leading to his Instagram account nearing one million followers, with frequent update videos showcasing his positive demeanor as his hair has grown thicker and longer to shoulder length.
