Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal secures Al Nassr’s position at the summit of the Saudi league.

Cristiano Ronaldo found the net for the third consecutive match since his return from a boycott of his team, propelling Al Nassr back to the top of the Saudi Pro League with a 5-0 victory over last-placed Al Najma on Wednesday.
Ronaldo initiated the scoring with a penalty in the seventh minute, followed by first-half goals from Kingsley Coman and Iñigo Martínez, giving the home side a commanding 3-0 advantage at halftime.
Sadio Mané added to the score early in the second half, prompting Al Nassr manager Jorge Jesus to start substituting key players, including Ronaldo, who has now netted 20 goals in the league this season—three behind Al Ahli’s Ivan Toney in the competition for the Saudi Golden Boot.
This victory marked Al Nassr’s 19th in the SPL this season, bringing their total to 58 points from 23 matches. They have suffered only one defeat in the league thus far and hold a two-point lead over second-placed Al Ahli.
Ronaldo was absent from the matches against Al Ittihad and Al Riyadh earlier this month due to dissatisfaction with the club’s financial backing during the recent transfer window.
The Portuguese forward was reportedly displeased with the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) for not investing in the team, especially as rivals Al Hilal—also 75% majority owned by the PIF—acquired his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema from Al Ittihad.
