Cole Palmer sets new Chelsea hat trick record, surpassing club legends.

Cole Palmer surpassed several Chelsea legends on Saturday by netting his fourth hat trick for the club, establishing a new record.
A first-half treble against Wolves marked Palmer’s fourth for Chelsea in the Premier League within just three years, allowing him to eclipse the records of Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba, and Frank Lampard, each of whom achieved three during their extensive tenures in west London.
Palmer converted two penalties against the league’s last-placed team before a well-executed finish in the 38th minute completed the hat trick and the record for the former Manchester City player.
This occasion turned out to be memorable for Palmer, whose hat trick was recorded as Chelsea’s third fastest in Premier League history (38 minutes). He also holds the record for the quickest (29 minutes vs. Everton) and the second quickest (31 minutes vs. Brighton).
Additionally, Palmer became the first player in Premier League history to achieve three first-half hat tricks.
Furthermore, he moved ahead of John Terry (41) into second place for the most goals scored by English players for Chelsea in the Premier League (44), now pursuing Lampard, who scored an impressive 147.
Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023, accumulating 41 goals in 83 appearances since becoming a key player at Stamford Bridge.

Recent reports from west London have suggested that Palmer is considering a return to Manchester due to feelings of homesickness in the capital, but manager Liam Rosenior has downplayed these claims.

“It’s so unrealistic. It has come from nowhere. There’s nothing to it. There’s no reason to discuss it. That’s my stance,” Rosenior stated.
“Cole is very content. I’ve had multiple discussions with him. Our focus is on how we can enhance this team, how he can develop, and how I can assist him.
“He enjoys being here and wants to remain a Chelsea player. Speculation is inevitable, but some of it is far from the truth. There’s no need for a conversation about it.”
