Como coach Cesc Fàbregas did not hold back in his criticism of Álvaro Morata following the veteran forward’s dismissal for receiving two yellow cards in quick succession during a 2-1 home loss to Fiorentina.
The Spain international entered the match in the 57th minute, and as his team sought an equalizer, he was cautioned in the 88th minute after a confrontation with Fiorentina’s Rolando Mandragora.
Just a minute later, the former Chelsea player directed his head towards Luca Ranieri in an off-the-ball incident that caused the Fiorentina player to fall and resulted in Morata being sent off.

“Provocation is part of football,” Fàbregas remarked regarding Morata’s red card after the match.
“Those who cannot handle it should consider another profession. He is an experienced player, and I expect more from him, as the difference between winning and losing is very slight. I do not appreciate excuses. You must focus on your own game; what others say should not affect you.”
Morata, who recently made his return from a thigh injury sustained in December, will face suspension for Wednesday’s league match against his parent club AC Milan.
He joined Como on loan from AC Milan during the summer and has yet to find the net in 15 league appearances.
Saturday’s defeat concluded Como’s 10-match unbeaten streak across all competitions and saw the team drop to seventh place in Serie A.
