Brentford forward Igor Thiago extends contract until 2031.

Igor Thiago has inked a new long-term agreement with Brentford, securing his future with the Premier League club until at least the summer of 2031. The contract also features an option for a one-year extension for the club.
The 24-year-old, who transferred from Club Brugge in 2024, has become the primary scorer at the GTech this season, netting 17 league goals, a tally surpassed only by Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
He has already set the record for the most goals by a Brazilian player in a single Premier League season, with 12 matches remaining, and achieved his first top-flight hat-trick against Everton in January.
“It’s fantastic that Thiago has committed his long-term future to the club,” head coach Keith Andrews stated. “The bond he shares with his teammates, the staff, and the fans, along with the significance of the club to him and vice versa, is clear for everyone to observe.
“I enjoy working with him and have appreciated witnessing his development as a player. His style of play is integral to our approach and what our season has entailed thus far.
“He’s been a crucial player for us, so this contract is well-deserved, and I’m very pleased that the club has managed to finalize it.”
Following his move to the capital, Thiago faced two major injuries, which led to him missing a significant portion of the 2024-25 season.
Nevertheless, he has since participated in all but one of Brentford’s league matches this year, positioning them in seventh place and firmly in the race for European football next season.
