Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães has exited the Brazil squad due to a knee injury sustained after the Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City.
Gabriel participated for the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 loss at Wembley, but afterward reported discomfort in his right knee.
Consequently, he has withdrawn from the Brazil squad for their upcoming friendly matches against France on March 26 in Boston and Croatia on March 31 in Orlando.
A statement on the Brazil national team website stated: “Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães is unavailable for the friendlies against France and Croatia.
“Following the match this Sunday (22) against Manchester City in the English League Cup final, the player reported pain in his right knee.

“Imaging tests have confirmed that Gabriel Magalhães is not fit to participate in the matches during this FIFA international break — no other player will be called up to take his place.”
Gabriel is the third Arsenal player to withdraw during this international window, following William Saliba’s exit from the France squad due to an ankle injury and Eberechi Eze’s absence from the England squad because of a calf issue.
