MANCHESTER, England — Moses Itauma’s ascent continued on Saturday with another impressive knockout, this time in Round Five against American Jermaine Franklin Jr. in Manchester.

Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) began the fight aggressively, unleashing his punches early, demonstrating his speed that proved too much for Franklin.

The American displayed resilience, absorbing numerous blows while remaining upright in the initial two rounds and even countering Itauma, landing a few shots.

Nonetheless, the Brit’s agile movement remained consistent as he pressed forward, earning his reward in Round Three when he knocked Franklin down with a powerful right hand.

Franklin managed to recover in Round Four, but the outcome seemed inevitable. Itauma came out strong in the following round, landing a significant left uppercut that halted Franklin’s momentum.

Seizing the opportunity, Itauma delivered a powerful right hand that sent the American to the canvas. Franklin was unable to rise, and Itauma’s remarkable progression in the sport continued.

Promoter Frank Warren indicated that Itauma will return in the summer as he aims to remain active following a fragmented 2025 in which he competed only twice.

Warren expressed his belief that a world title bout could be on the horizon this year.

Itauma has been labeled as the next heavyweight division superstar and has already made a significant impact at just 21 years old, with some, including promoter Warren, likening his trajectory to that of Mike Tyson.

The Brit has fought in various locations across the UK, including London, Manchester, and Glasgow, as well as Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is rapidly gaining popularity among fans.

Co-op Live in Manchester was filled to capacity for Itauma’s first headline event in the UK on Saturday, and he provided those in attendance with a memorable evening through another significant victory.
