U.S. National Sled Team Set to Play China in Para Hockey Cup Semifinals
CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team is set to face off against China here today (Dec. 13) in the semifinals of the 2024 Para Hockey Cup at Bell Aliant Centre.
Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. local time/2 p.m. ET, and the game will live stream here.
Team USA beat Canada 5-3 on Wednesday (Dec. 11) to wrap up a perfect 3-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) preliminary round and enter the semifinals as the top seed in the tournament. Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) tallied three points (2g, 1a) in the win, earning U.S. Player of the Game honors.
Farmer’s seven points and six goals lead all skaters in the tournament. Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) is tied for the tournament lead with four helpers in three games.
China enters the contest as the fourth seed with a 0-0-1-2 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record after dropping its final preliminary game 7-6 to Czechia in overtime on Wednesday.
Team USA is 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) against China all-time. The most recent matchup between these two teams was the 2024 Para Hockey Cup opener, which the U.S. won 10-1 on Sunday (Dec. 8).
