The Swiss have an overtime loss and a regulation victory to date in the world championship. They opened the tournament against Czechia last Friday (May 9) with a 5-4 overtime loss in a rematch of last year’s gold-medal game (which Czechia won). Switzerland followed up with a 5-2 victory over Denmark on Saturday (May 10) and enter play today fourth in the Group B standings, two points off the lead, which is shared by the U.S. and Germany.
Team USA has not played the Swiss in the world championship since the 2022 tournament.
