World Rugby election: Australian Brett Robinson elected chair
World Rugby elected Brett Robinson of Australia as its new chair on Thursday, replacing the sport’s previous chief, Bill Beaumont.
Robinson beat out Abdelatif Benazzi of France and Andrea Rinaldo of Italy after two rounds of voting from 52 members of the World Rugby Council.
“It is an immense privilege and honour to have been elected World Rugby chair by my council colleagues today,” Robinson said.
“During the course of the process, I have had many conversations with my colleagues around the world and am heartened by our shared ambition to continue to build on the strength of our game.”
