U.S. Captures Sled Worlds Gold on Home Soil
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) scored a hat trick to help lift the U.S. National Sled Team to a 6-1 victory over Canada in the gold medal game of the 2025 World Para Ice Hockey Championship at the LECOM Harborcenter here today.
Team USA finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record, capturing its seventh all-time Sled Worlds gold medal.
“Obviously, our start was very good,” said David Hoff, head coach of the U.S. National Sled Team. “I thought we sustained that momentum throughout the game and never let our foot off the pedal. We were very tough to play against for three periods. We had a really solid performance by the whole group.”

Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) opened the scoring 2:42 into the contest, wrapping around the Canadian net and firing one home during the first U.S. power play of the game. Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) and Wallace added assists on the play.
Just 1:07 later, Wallace forced a puck from behind the net of Canadian netminder Adam Kingsmill home to give the U.S. a 2-0 advantage.
Liam Hickey trimmed the Team USA lead to one, as he fired a shot past U.S. netminder Griffin LaMarre (Haverhill, Mass.) from the slot at 5:09.
Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.) regained the two-goal lead for the U.S. with 4:06 remaining in the period, as he wristed a shot past Kingsmill’s blocker from the top of the right faceoff circle.
Wallace added his second of the game at 5:10 of the second, as he scored during a delayed-penalty opportunity following stellar passes from Farmer and Roybal. He tucked a shot past Kingsmill to give Team USA a 4-1 advantage.
Wallace completed the hat-trick 6:46 into the third frame as he corralled a pass from Roybal and from just in front of the Canadian net. Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) added the sixth U.S. goal 1:14 later on the power play, as he transferred the puck to his left stick and lifted a shot past Kingsmill’s blocker to take a five-goal lead.
LaMarre kept the U.S. ahead by five with 3:55 remaining in regulation as he denied a breakaway opportunity. He finished the contest with 10 saves in the victory.
