VANTAA, Finland – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team will meet Sweden on Sunday (Jan. 5) in its second preliminary-round game of the 2025 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship.

TODAY’S MATCH UP

Today’s tilt marks the second preliminary-round game of the 2025 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship and the back end of back-to-back games to open competition. The U.S. sits at 1-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in Group A with one preliminary round game remaining after today.

STICKNEY MAKES DEBUT IN NET

Goaltender Morgan Stickney made her Under-18 Women's World Championship debut in net in Team USA's 6-0 victory over Japan. It marked her first career victory at an IIHF event and first shutout in international play.

Under the guidance of head coach Liz Keady Norton, the U.S. has posted a perfect 6-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record in IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship play. Keady Norton is in her second season as head coach after leading Team USA to gold at the 2024 tournament.
