WBO orders champion Oleksandr Usyk to face Joseph Parker 1 | ASL

The World Boxing Organisation (WBO) has ordered champion to begin negotiations over a mandatory title defence against Joseph Parker.

The New Zealand boxer won the interim WBO title in February after a second-round win over Martin Bakole in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Usyk and Parker have 30 days to reach an agreement for their fight, or else the WBO will order purse bid proceedings.

The Ukranian’s second succesive win over Tyson Fury last December saw him crowned the WBO heavyweight champion
