Warriors’ Stephen Curry, Draymond Green to sit out vs. Rockets
The Golden State Warriors have ruled out stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green for Thursday’s game against the Houston Rockets.
Curry will sit out for the second time in four games as part of the Warriors’ plan to manage his bilateral knee injury. He did not play in a Nov. 27 home loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder due to pain in both of his knees.
Curry said he was not concerned about the injury but admitted it has the potential to become a “nagging” issue. He said he and the Warriors were trying to stay ahead of it but that he wasn’t sure if he would have to miss future games as part of maintenance of the issue.
Green will miss his second straight game due to left calf tightness. Head coach Steve Kerr said Green was scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday. Speaking on his radio show on 95.7 The Game, Kerr said more would be known about the MRI on Thursday.
“He’s doing well,” Kerr said of Green. “But all in all, I talked to him yesterday, he said he is feeling pretty good. My gut is that it is not going to be a super long-term issue. But we’ll have to see what our training staff says tomorrow.”
Kerr has said that the Warriors will be watching Curry’s and Green’s minutes and games as they try to keep their veterans fresh.
