76ers’ Embiid to have knee scoped next week, says team official
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee next week, a team source officials tells ESPN.
The procedure is being done with the goal of reducing symptoms within the knee which will allow him to perform at a higher level, the official said.
After being ruled medically unable to play in late February, Embiid and the 76ers started meeting with doctors and specialists to determine the course of treatment to alleviate his knee issues. This is the second surgery on his left knee in just over a year.
Embiid will be re-evaluated in six weeks after surgery, and is expected to make a full recovery, a team official said.
