THOROLD, Ontario. — The U.S. National Sled Team skated to a 2-1 victory over Canada, and the U.S. Women’s Development Team won 2-1 against Canada here today in the opening contests of the 2025 Sled Series at Canada Games Park.

Kayden Beasley (Coats, N.C.) scored with 4:37 to play to help the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team to a 2-1 victory over Canada here today at Canada Games Park in the opening contest of the 2025 Sled Series.
“We’re happy with the result and the way our team played” said David Hoff (Bottineau, N.D.), head coach of the U.S. National Sled Team. “It’s great experience for our players to battle in a close game like this one, especially heading into the world championship in May.”
Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) opened the scoring on the power play 11:54 into the contest, firing a shot under the outstretched arm of Canadian goaltender Corbin Watson from the top of the left circle. Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) drew an assist on the play.
In the closing minutes of the middle frame, Team USA was awarded a penalty shot, but Farmer’s attempt to double the lead was denied by Watson.

Liam Hickey knotted the game at 1-1 at the 6:24 mark of the final stanza with a wrist shot that found the top corner of the net.
With just 4:37 to play, Beasley collected a rebound off a shot from Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.), capitalizing off a wrister from the slot to give the U.S. a 2-1 victory.
Jen Lee (San Francisco, Calif.) posted 13 saves to pick up the win in goal for the U.S.
The second contest of the three-game series against Canada is set for Friday (March 28) at 7 p.m. ET. The 2025 Women’s Sled Series kicks off tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET. Every game from the 2025 Sled Series will stream live here.

Catherine Faherty (Norwell, Mass.) and Kelsey DiClaudio (Plum, Pa.) each tallied goals to help lift the U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team to a 2-1 victory over Canada here today at Canada Games Park in its opening contest of the 2025 Women’s Sled Series.
“Great all-around team win,” said Rose Misiewicz (Duluth, Minn.), head coach of the U.S. Women’s Development Sled Team. “Kelsey’s goal left us all speechless.”
The U.S. outshot Canada 4-1 in the opening frame, but the contest remained scoreless for each side through the first period.
Faherty opened the scoring six minutes into the middle stanza after collecting a cross-ice feed from Lera Doederlein (San Diego, Calif.) and wristing one home from the bottom of the left circle to give the U.S. a 1-0 lead.
At the 6:22 mark of the third period, DiClaudio gathered the puck behind the Canada goal, lifting it onto the blade of her right stick as she careened around the left net before launching the puck into the top-right corner to score a Michigan-style goal to put Team USA up 2-0.
Christina Picton got Canada to within a goal just four minutes remaining, but the U.S. went on to earn the victory.
Gabby Graves-Wake (Phoenix, Ariz.) earned the win in goal for Team USA.
