SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – The final game of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series, Presented By Discover will take place on Saturday (Feb. 8) as the U.S. Women’s National Team will face Canada in a winner-take-all game five at Credit Union Place.
Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. AT (6 p.m. ET) and can be viewed live on NHL Network.
TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
Today's game marks the fifth and final game of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series, presented by Discover and is the second game in two days. The two teams last met on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
GAME NOTES
IN THE 2024-25 RIVALRY SERIES…
Heading into game five, the series is tied at 2-2. The U.S. won game one, 7-2, and game four, 2-1 (SO), while Canada took game two, 5-4 (SO) and game three, 4-1. A win tonight would give the U.S. its first Rivalry Series win since the 2019-20 Rivalry Series.
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS…AGAIN
For the third straight year and fourth time in the series all-time history, the winner will be decided in the final game.
FIRST TIME IN P.E.I.
Today marks the first time the U.S. Women's National Team has faced Canada in the province of Prince Edward Island. The U.S. has never skated in the province previously.
SHOOTOUT WINS
The U.S.' 2-1 shootout victory over Canada is the second shootout of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series and Team USA's first shootout win in the Rivalry Series since game one of the 2022-23 Rivalry Series when the U.S. took a 4-3 victory in Kelowna, B.C.
