GAME DAY | U.S. Set to Face Off Against Canada in Para Hockey Cup Final

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The U.S. National Sled Team is set to play Canada here today  in the championship game of the 2024 Para Hockey Cup at Bell Aliant Centre. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. local time/6 p.m. ET. The game will live stream here for viewers in the U.S., and will be broadcast live on TSN in Canada. NHL Network will televise the contest tomorrow (Dec. 15) at 1 p.m. ET.

The U.S. enters this contest with an unbeaten 4-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record after beating China 13-2 yesterday (Dec. 13) in the semifinals. Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.), Evan Nichols (Haymarket, Va.) and Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) each tallied a hat trick in the win. Roybal collected seven points (3g, 4a) to earn U.S. Player of the Game honors.

Canada carries a 3-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record into the title matchup after skating to a 3-1 victory over Czechia in yesterday’s (Dec. 13) semifinals.

These two squads most recently matched up in the preliminary round on Wednesday (Dec. 11). Team USA won 5-3, with Farmer was named U.S. Player of the Game after notching three points (2g, 1a) in the victory. 

The U.S. and Canada have faced off 126 times across all competitions, and Team USA holds an edge with a 55-13-7-49-2 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) record. 

Team USA has won eight-consecutive Para Hockey Cups, and a record 10 tournament titles all-time. The team enters this matchup with a 8-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record on the season.
