GAME DAY | U.S. National Sled Hockey Team Set to Play China to Open Para Hockey Cup

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team is set to play China today at Bell Aliant Centre in its first preliminary round game of the 2024 Para Hockey Cup. 

Puck drop is set for 12 p.m. local time/11 a.m. ET, and the game will stream live here.

The four-team event also includes Canada and Czechia. The teams will face each other in the preliminary round with the semifinal round set for Dec. 13 and championship and third-place games on Dec. 14.

The U.S. enters this tournament with an unbeaten 4-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record on the season after winning the IPH Cup in Ostrava, Czechia, in October. 

Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) leads the team in goals (6), assists (6), and points (12) through five games this season. Jen Lee (San Francisco, Calif.) is set to make his season debut in goal for the U.S. 

Team USA is 4-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) against China all-time. The U.S. last faced off against China in the preliminary round of the 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Championship in Calgary, Alberta, winning 10-0. 

The U.S. has won eight-consecutive Para Hockey Cups, and a record 10 tournament titles all-time.
