Betting Celtics-Cavaliers: Three props that stand out

Two of the best teams in the NBA clash Friday night on ESPN when the Cleveland Cavaliers (48-10) hit to road to face the Boston Celtics (42-17). Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

The Cavs ride a six-game road winning streak into TD Garden, while the Celtics (-2.5, 233.5) look to bounce back after having a six-game winning streak snapped Wednesday night by the surging Detroit Pistons.

ESPN BET is offering an array of prop bets for the Celtics-Cavaliers game, and here are betting experts Andre Snellings and Eric Moody with the bets they like most.

Bets we like

Donovan Mitchell over 28.5 total points (+115)

Mitchell has had big scoring efforts in all three games against the Celtics this season, averaging 33.7 PPG with at least 31 points scored in each contest. The Cavaliers are the top seed in the East, but the defending NBA champion Celtics are still the measuring stick team in the league. When the Cavaliers play them, Mitchell steps up his game to levels we typically don’t see from him outside of the playoffs. With the Celtics having won two of the first three matchups against the Cavs this season, I look for Mitchell to be locked in again, putting his scoring on the forefront to try to help his team even the season series. — Snellings

Mitchell over 31.5 points and rebounds (-125)

If you’re just looking at Mitchell’s hit rate this season, you might think he’s been inconsistent. He’s only cleared this line in 35% of his games. But context matters. The Cavs dominated early in many of those matchups, limiting his opportunities. Friday’s game against the Celtics is different. It’s a potential Eastern Conference Finals preview, and the spread suggests a competitive one. Mitchell has cleared this line in eight straight games against Boston, including all three this season. He’s also averaging 23.2 field goal attempts per game over that time frame. The Celtics struggle defending the pick and roll, making this a great spot for Mitchell to deliver. — Moody

Evan Mobley over 11.5 assists and rebounds (-130)

The Celtics rank fifth in defensive rating, making them a tough matchup. But Mobley has surpassed this line in 14 of his last 20 games, including four of his last five. During that stretch, he’s averaged 5.9 potential assists and 15.8 rebound chances per game. Boston struggles against power forwards on the glass, allowing the fourth-most rebounds per game to the position. Lastly, Mobley has also cleared this line in two of three games against the Celtics this season. — Moody
